Change in Hawthorn won’t happen on its own – it will come from people stepping up and getting involved. At the last state election, Hawthorn was decided by a margin of just 1544 votes. With a strong community effort, we can turn Hawthorn independent in 2026.
Volunteers are the backbone of a community Independent candidate. Everyone is welcome and there are plenty of fun and meaningful activities to get involved in.
Our campaign is built on local energy, by people who care about Hawthorn, who want practical outcomes, and who are willing to have conversations, support their neighbours, and be part of something constructive.
Here are some ways you can get involved:
Host a corflute (yard sign)
Putting a sign on your fence is one of the simplest and most effective ways to show visible support. It builds momentum, creates recognition, and signals to others in your street that this campaign is growing. Sign up now to host a corflute in September.
Letterboxing
Help deliver information across Hawthorn so residents know who we are, what we stand for, and what we're working towards. It's and easy (and healthy!) way to make a real impact.
Doorknocking
Conversations matter. Speaking directly with people in the community helps us understand what matters to them and share a genuine, local vision for Hawthorn’s future.
Flyering
Hand out campaign materials at train stations, shopping strips, and local events. This is a high-impact way to reach large numbers of voters quickly.
Team Leader (Doorknocking and/or Flyering Teams)
Take on a leadership role by coordinating volunteer teams and supporting outreach on the ground.
Distribution team
Assist with delivering and installing yard signs across the electorate. This helps ensure strong visibility in key areas and supports our broader campaign presence.
Office Help
Assist with logistics, and the day-to-day running of the campaign HQ.
Youth Team (25 and under)
Be part of a youth group bringing energy, ideas, and momentum to the campaign.
By signing up to volunteer, you confirm that you have read and agree to our Volunteer Agreement
